Short version: I had the most bizarre experience, tried contacting Bishops 4 different times with no response, and now I'm out $85 and need to get my hair cut again.
Long version: I have long hair that goes to my lower back. I'm new to Minneapolis and needed a trim, and this place has good reviews, so I tried it. I did the online booking option where you don't pick a specific hairdresser. When one was assigned to me, I looked her up on the Google reviews, and she had good reviews, so I thought all would be well. I've had long hair for about 10 years now. I've had my hair cut in NC, FL, ME, and even Germany. Never have I had an experience like this. Not a single time did it take longer than 30-40 minutes for a trim, and I always walked away with a clearly fresh cut. I did not want to leave a bad review because I acknowledge that not every hairdresser is good at every hairstyle, which is why I tried contacting Bishops 4 different times to settle this matter. First, this trim took over an hour to do. I was flabbergasted. Then, the woman made me stand up as she tried to take 2 inches off my hair. Never have I ever had to stand up to get 2 inches taken off. As she was trimming up my layers, she wasn't actually cutting anything. She'd hold my hair between her fingers, and get the scissors close to my hair to cut it, but nothing would actually get cut. She spent more time combing my hair and walking from one side to the other side of my chair. I had told her at the very beginning that if she wasn't comfortable with cutting long hair, then it was okay, and that I was willing to wait for a different hairstylist even if that meant going again on a different day. She was so confident that she was really good at cutting long hair, so I trusted her. However, her actions made it clear to me that she was not comfortable cutting my hair. I was so taken aback by this entire experience. I even took a picture of the amount of my hair that was on the floor, which was hardly any at all, considering I asked for 2 inches off and it took over an hour. Because she hardly cut anything from my layers, I have freshly cut ends mixed with dry, frizzy ends. My ponytail looks like the end of a paintbrush. Just, truly bizarre. I don't want to put the hairstylist on blast, but my annoyance is mostly with Bishops. Don't send out an email asking "How did we do?" if you actually aren't going to read or do anything about anything.
