More than a haircut.
This is a culture.

Our origin story
Born In Portland.
Built for everyone.
Bishops started in Portland, Oregon with one chair, one mural, and one mission: to create a space where people could express themselves without fear, shame, or sticker shock. We were tired of overpriced salons with cold attitudes—and cheap chains that treated style like an afterthought. So, we built something better.
Since opening our first shop in 2001, Bishops has grown into a nationwide brand with 40+ locations—and zero desire to go mainstream. We’re here to shake up the industry, one killer cut at a time.

What We Stand For
Hair Should Be Fun. So Should the Spot That Cuts It.
At Bishops, we believe in:
- Freedom – To be yourself, wear your hair how you want, and change it whenever you damn well please.
- Belonging – Whether you’re a kid, a creative, a professional, or someone who’s never felt comfortable in a salon.
- High Standards, Zero Snobbery – We hire stylists who are both insanely talented and genuinely kind.
Who We Serve
You Don’t Fit in a Box—and That’s Exactly How We Like It.
Our clients span generations, genders, zip codes, and playlists. From back-to-school buzzcuts and post-divorce dye jobs to everyday shape-ups and full-on reinventions—our chairs are for everyone.
Whether you’re:
- A parent bringing your kid for their first cut
- A professional who wants style without the salon drama
- A trendsetter going platinum for the third time this year
- A walk-in who just needs a neck trim and good vibes
You’re welcome here!

Our differentiators:
- Gender-neutral pricing (always)
- Walk-in friendly
- Stylists with both skill and personality
- Music in the air. Beverages on the house.
- Shops designed to reflect local culture
- Cuts, color, beard trims, blowouts, and retail in one place
JOIN THE MOVEMENT
We’re always looking for stylists, shop owners, and fellow humans who want to be part of something real. If you’re tired of stale service and surface-level style, welcome home.
